“Probiotics cure everything.” “All strains are basically the same.” “If it’s on the label, it’s in the bottle.” The canine supplement world runs on confident claims — and a surprising amount of what passes for conventional wisdom does not survive contact with the evidence.
True Canine Probiotics exists to separate fact from fiction. We are a fact-checking publication that takes the claims circulating in the probiotic and supplement market — on labels, in ads, across social media, and even in well-meaning advice — and tests them against what the research actually shows. Some claims hold up. Many do not. We report both outcomes with equal honesty.
Our mission is not to sell you on probiotics or to talk you out of them. It is to give you an accurate picture. We dig into the primary literature, trace claims back to their original sources, check whether the cited studies actually say what they are claimed to say, and flag the gap between a marketing statement and the science behind it. When the evidence is genuinely strong, we affirm it. When a claim is overstated, misattributed, or invented, we say so and show the receipts.
